Each year four candidates are selected as the recipients of the following scholarships.

Interns are assigned to specific departments of the museum where they work in collaboration with staff members to gain professional experience, and a comprehensive understanding of wider museum practice.

Established in 2023 thanks to a generous donation by Angela Sirignano, a member of the Guggenheim Circle since 2013, the scholarship named after her brother, notary Pietro Sirignano, supports a five-month internship for students, recent graduates, or graduates in Economics and Management of the Arts, Management of Cultural Activities, or other subjects related to the museum sector.

The intern will have the opportunity to assist in the museum’s Department for Individual Development and Membership and gain professional experience of its numerous and diverse administrative tasks. It includes working alongside and contributing to initiatives intended for individual members and supporting the planning of cultural events designed for various membership levels.

Thanks to the generosity of the Guggenheim UK Charitable Trust, the successful candidate has the unique opportunity to collaborate with the Curatorial and Conservation Departments for a five-to-six month internship, in honor of Philip Rylands, Director Emeritus.

The intern will gain hands-on experience of the numerous and varied curatorial and conservation aspects related to the museum’s dynamic twentieth-century art collection. Tasks may include conducting archival, library, and online research on selected themes, artists, works of art and their provenance; compiling bibliographies, chronologies and tasks related to the production of exhibition catalogues; coordinating object lists and layouts; and assisting with the preparation of wall texts and labels. The intern will also undertake research to support current conservation projects, as well as archival research on conservation treatments.

Thanks to a generous donation from Carola Jain, member of the Advisory Board, the Digital Social Media Internship offers one candidate the opportunity to spend a period of five-to-six months within the Communication Department. The intern reports directly to the Press Officer and Social Media Manager and the Social Media Coordinator.

The intern is selected for their previous experience in social media management, copywriting, strong verbal and written communication skills and, above all, a passion for creative storytelling. Tasks may include assisting with the creation of original daily social media content, drafting social copy representative of the museum, reviewing existing content, researching existing content and creating new and forward-thinking narratives about the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions for social platforms.

Since 2020, thanks to a generous donation from the Regni family, the Fausto Regni scholarship supports a five-month internship for students, recent graduates, and graduates in Economics, Law, Engineering and Management, or other subjects related to museum management.

The internship offers the opportunity to collaborate with the museum's Membership and Corporate departments and gain practical experience of the various administrative aspects of these offices. The internship includes assisting and supporting fundraising activities directed at companies and individual members. The intern contributes to planning various cultural initiatives for the different levels of members and conducts research to support the museum's programming.
